Thanks for the info. very helpful indeed.
One more question though.
as stated earlier, I have been living outside Canada for the last 6 years. I got married to a non-Canadian and got 2 kids (who are Canadians).
We decided to relocate back to Canada as a family and I would obviously need to sponsor my wife in order to get a PR so that we move. In IM5540 of the sponsorship/immigration kit they ask for "proof of intention to re-establish in Canada" such as Job offer, property rental, mortgage, etc.... of which we have none.
So what should I include? there is an "Other" field but what could it be?
Please help.

Hey Kazamaza,
you can include a plan of what you intend to do to get to Canada, and once you get there. My partner has no job offer, property rental and mortgage, but he has been approved.
One way to do it ( but of course, it's only a suggestion) is to write a timeline - all the steps that you will need to take in order to leave the country where you are now, and what you will do once in Canada.
Pick a date that seems plausible for you ( even if it might be before or after that) for example, and work it from there - when do you give notice for your work, for the house where you live now, tax issues that you need to settle before leaving, quotations from moving companies, all the practical steps ( I'm sure you have thought about it already, and discussed it with your wife - so just write them down).
ON the timeline - also include the steps you will take in Canada. Where will you live? with your parents, friends? Get a letter from them saying that they will support you until you get a house. Your children are Canadians, so they can go to school - if you have been in contact with schools already, print out the mail. If not - then write down where they will go, etc- Be as thorough as possible - it's mostly a matter of putting down whatever needs to be done to go back to Canada, and I'm sure that since you are moving with your family you have been discussing with your wife how to do it best etc.
Good luck - and don't hesitate to ask questions!
