Hi everyone,

I am applying for a visitor visa next month. I have a cousin, who is now a Canadian citizen, in Toronto and that is where I initially planned to stay. I am asking him for an invitation letter together with his Canadian passport and citizen ID. He would only be taking care of my accommodation; I will be shouldering the rest of the expenses. Do you think that would be enough? Or should I also ask for his pay stubs, COE? I was kinda hesitant to ask for these stuff since they are confidential for an individual and I don't want to cause him any hassle.

Thank you.

Hi,

It's not mandatory for the host to provide any financial documents.... such as proofs of his income/bank statements, etc. The visa officer will assess the adequacy of your financial resources for the visit

All the best

In my opinion, if your financial position is very strong, then no need to provide invitee's bank statement and employment details.

But usually if this is your first visit and you have average financial resources to support your trip then providing the above will strengthen your application.
