Hello Guys,
I am hoping one of you can help me with this.

I am a Permanent Resident of canada. I got married last month in India. And I am planning to bring my spouse to Canada as soon as possible. I have all the documents ready; her Police Clearance, Medical Exam, etc.

However, I have a small confusion about Sponsorship Evaluation Form IMM5481.

1. I am an IT Professional. I was a full time employee in Canada untill Jan 2012, earning 90K per annum.
2. I started my own incorporation in Jan 2012. I now work for a client of my incorporation as a contractor, making $650 a day. My contract is for 6 months.

My question is what should I reply for the question asking;
1. If I am employed or self employed - Is incorporation a self employment or self employment means you own a company which is not incorporated or which is sole propertiership ???
2. My income for past 12 months - Should I put the amount as - my FTE salary for 10 months + my contract salary for 2 months.

I am planning to put the details as;
1. I am self employed
2. Total income for past 12 months - my FTE salary for 10 months + my contract salary for 2 months

I am also planning to put in a note, explaining my job transition and how I reached the amount mentioned in my income for 2 months section.
I also plan on attaching following documents;
a. Option C printout for last year
b. Pay stubs for Nov 2011, Dec 2011 and Jan 2012 from my Full time employment
c. ROE from my full time employer whom I left in Jan 2012.
d. Certificate of Incorporation & Articles for my company which shows my name as the director
e. Contract awarded to my company from my current client stating the term of contract and rate
f. A letter from my client stating that I am engaged via my company with them and my current contract rate and contract term.

Can anyone advise what I am doing is correct or should I do it differently??

Thanks,
Adi

The information you have indicated you will include appears to be thorough and providing the back-up documentation is an excellent idea. Since this information is all used in the very first steps of seeing if the sponsor is eligible if questions required clarification they would be done early on and ought not to cause undue delay.

Also since LICO is not part of a spousal the $ amounts you have indicated are likely sufficient to ensure you meet the requirement to provide for your spouse and should satisfy the reviewing officer.

Thanks NBaker!
