Help A bit confused

i we applied for a sponsorship shes sponsoring me right and i applied for an open work permit but before i got a response i sent in a visitor extension and but then my open work permit got approved , do i have to keep renewing the visitor extension or how does it work im kinda confused ppl tell me different things and i dont want to hold up papers in case of a mistake or something

If you have a valid OWP, you don't need to maintain your visitor status.

so what happens if they respond to my visitor status and only give me lets say 6 months what happens then do i have to comply with that or that just doesnt apply anymore?

Just cancel (withdraw) the visitor extension. You can do that online.
