Hey everyone.

I am a canadian citizen who married an american citizen who Was born in germany and has a german citizenship also.
He has lived in the us for the majority of his life he is 22. (Has a us passport. I dont know if this makes a diffirence)
I have been living with him in the us since april i have a green card.
We both decided the outland app would be alot better and quicker.
We met online and got married right away. Both our families know so we have the proof to show a legit marriage and what not.
We also decided I am going to move back to Canada to do the app so I can get a job and start a home there for us and wait until his app goes through.

1.Would he have to get police certificate from germany ? He was a child when he lived there
2.Does he also have to provide a german birth certificate ?
3.I have debt with canada rev for about 1000$ or so in child tax. Would this cause a problem?

Thanks for your time.

1. No need of clearance from germany, unless he has stayed there for a period exceeding 6 months while he was 18 years old or over.
2. Yes
3. No problem. ONly bankruptcy, criminality or being on social assistance would hinder you from being eligible. Many have owed taxes and sponsored.

Good luck

not necessarily. if the "child tax" that is being referred to is really court ordered child support payments, that is also a reason for refusal. the original postr would need to clarify if it's actually just a tax owed from filing taxes or if it's backpayments owed for child support. CIC will question owing child support payments. if a person can't keep up with current responsibilities for dependants, how will they be able to handle supporting ANOTHER dependant?

she said child tax with CRA. i dont think this relates to child support. Usually you will owe due to perhaps her income changing during tax year etc.

right, that's why i said it needs to be specified. if it's really the child tax, then there's no issue. if it's child support, it's an issue.

You are correct. Lets see if she clarifies

Can't get any more specific than saying it's a child tax debt with CRA, as she did in her first post.
