Hi everyone,

I am a newbie on this forum. I would like to ask some help regarding time needed for medical tests to arrive. I applied to Damascus office as Quebec Skilled worker and I already have the CSQ. I have submitted my application on the 1st of December 2008 (ecas show this as start processing date). It's been more than 8 month waiting, while CIC website states the following waiting times (in months) for application to be finalized: 8 (30%), 10 (50%), 13 (70%) and 16 months (80% of cases).

I would like to know the following:
1. Since I have sent all the correct required documents and has already payed the Landing Fees at first place, to which case of the above should I normally be fit?
2. The number of months mentioned on CIC website (for application to be finalized) means till the application is approved or refused, from the date they receive medical tests from me? If yes, this means medical tests usually are sent 1 month prior to the date mentioned? For ex. if 10 months is required to finish application (supposing that I will directly proceed with the medical tests in the same month I get papers), I should get the medical test forms on the 9th month?

Please I need help on the above and any additional help/experience sharing would be greatly helpful. Thank you very much!
Julia

Hello hassan,

Well can you give me the proper link regarding the new rules? I have applied for CSQ and got it on October 2008, then applied for Permanent VISA on December 2008. So I don't know if I am by the new rules. And regarding the 38 list, is it about the NOCs? When I got the CSQ, they already written the NOC number on it.

1) Its not about getting fit into one of the cases above. It depends on how long your application take and based on that they calculate the statistics on how long it took to finish 50% , 30% , etc of the applicants. Since you sent in everything accurately, it might go faster but there might be other factors that might make your application go slower.

2) Yes, but you shouldn't read too much into those times. They are approximate times. It is not that 10months are required to finish an application but rather 50% of the people get it all over by 10months but it also means the 50% take longer.

Thanks rupeshhari for your reply.

As I found on : http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-instructions.asp
I am not concerned with the new Law, since I applied originally to Quebec and got the CSQ already, and they state on the above link: "Note: This does not apply to applicants intending to live in the province of Quebec.". So everybody must know that those new rules doesn't affect people who applied as Quebec Skilled Worker. Specially if you got your CSQ, it means no need to be affraid, you've already been selected!

Since your question is related to timelines, maybe it would help you to go to http://www.trackitt.com/canada-immigration-trackers/quebec-skilled-workers and look at data from people who are tracking their QSW applications on there.
