Job Description



We are seeking an Analyst for a full-time position to join our fast growing organization that serves the financial services industry in Toronto, New York and London. The successful candidate will join our regulatory management team and be responsible for supporting and developing our suite of regulatory capital & lending management tools. The candidate will use our suite of applications to address the data processing, as well as assessing and participating in an ongoing consulting relationship with each of our clients. Softek’s Analysts need to have attention to detail and be able to produce quality research. The successful candidate will be introduced to a wide range of securities in the capital markets, from relatively simple equities, to the most complex derivatives, and in the use of an advanced technology suite developed by Softek for providing to our customers specialized calculations related to securities trading. This is an exciting opportunity to work with and learn from senior and experienced financial and technology professionals in a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced environment.





Responsibilities:



  • Work with internal/external financial professionals to understand capital requirements and lending controls
Perform research in order to understand various security types and their characteristics

Perform unit and regression tests on “rules”, identify implementation steps, and verify deployment

Collaborate with customers and colleagues on policy implementation solutions

Effectively communicate with external stakeholders including clients & auditors regarding regulatory requirements or credit policies



Skills and Requirements:



University degree in a quantitative field such as Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Computational Finance or Engineering.

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel & Word
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Client Tools a plus
  • Some programing experience a plus
Aptitude for programming like activities, or actual programming experience

Knowledge of finance, capital markets, and some familiarity with IIROC, SEC or FINRA regulations a plus

Self-motivated and ability to work both independently and under direction

Ability to work in a collaborative environment using strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills

Strong analytical and organisational skills with an eye for detail and accuracy
