Hello from Malaysia!

I am a Malaysian and currently waiting for the visa to be approved. My family and I are very excited and looking forward to move over. I would like to befriends with Malaysians who have successfully moved over to Vancouver.

Friends . Why Malaysians only?

There is a fair sized Malaysian Community in Vancouver,There are about a dozen Malaysian restaurants,A Malaysian Business council and A Makan Dining Social club,That being said,It would be a mistake to make only Malaysian friends,Staying only within your community MAY hinder your professional advancement

I can understand you will feel comfortable in Malaysian Community, however it will be quite inappropriate for you to stick to your own community only.Making friends in diverse societies in a multi cultural enviornament can often prove beneficial for growth and advancement.

I understand from your past posts you are going to Richmond,it is nice Multicultural city dominated by 52% chinese,9% Filipino,5%south Asian and 30% Caucasian.Lots of Malaysians and Singaporeans there,Are you Bumiputra,Chinese or Indian?The Chinese Malaysians tend to settle here along with the Muslim Malaysians,The Indian malaysians tend to stay in South Vancouver.Anyway I talked to my Malaysian friend and He said you will find about 3,000-4,000 or so Malaysians in the Greater Vancouver area
