I want to bring some heirlooms from birth country to canada. I am a citizen in canada. What documents do i need to prove they are family heirloom and what should i declare on declaration slip at the airport after landing?
You don't need to pay duties on them only if a family member is deceased and the heirloom is given/passed on to you. Also, I would get every single piece of documentation you can get your hands on to proof this is a family heirloom given to you.
