Health Insurance

Hi all,

Bought our tickets yesterday. We will be landing on Toronto on 1st Jan. Easy date to remember.

Do we need to buy health insurance prior to landing? Or after landing?

Anyone has any suggestions on the health insurance they have bought?

Are you landing as PRs? If so, you'll need private health insurance for the 3 month waiting period to qualify for OHIP.

I'd strongly advise buying said insurance before travelling: imagine what might happen (expenses) if you were to be knocked over and injured by a taxi as you exit the airport... (Far-fetched scenario, I know, but still )

Do you recommend any Canadian Insurance ? I can buy some online, but then using them or reimbursing them will be a nightmare. So if anyone can mention any good Canadian insurance (me and my wife both regularly go to doctor), that I can buy online, that would be great ?
