Health Insurance while waiting inland for PR

Just inquiring what others have done for health insurance while waiting for PR in Canada? My husband did get travel insurance prior to moving here (on a visitor visa) two months ago, but that will run out soon and I'd prefer to get some coverage in Canada. Does anyone have any recommendations of insurance companies in Canada that will cover non-Canadians?

Which province are you in? Some provinces allow the applicant to receive provincial health coverage. I am in Alberta and I applied for AHCIP. All I needed to show was my marriage certificate, sponsor approval letter and my visitor record.

We're in PEI. We are not that far along in the process so do not yet have Sponsor approval, but certainly will look into whether he qualifies for the provincial health coverage. Will still need to find something until sponsor approval!
