Hello,

my wife, my son and I are planning to move to Canada this september. I have a permanent resident card, but they don't. They will come on a tourist visa.

However, I have an offer from a local company which wants to hire me and I am wondering if there is any possibility that my wife and son will receive Health Insurance before they officially get their permanent resident card.

Do you have any ideas how we should proceed?

Thanks in advance

Is it possible that my employer will come up for the health insurance costs. Is that even possible? Would I be able to negotiate this with him?

that would be up to the employer...since we don't technically pay health insurance in Canada....he might give you an allowance towards it but that is something between you and the employer....your wife and son would not be able to go on any plan that the company has until such time they have their PR
