Hello everybody,

I apologize upfront for in case I double post my question. I think I posted it in the wrong category. I am at the moment in Canada and I will send my Inland PR application soon. I got until last month my european health insurance, but the contract is now over and the insurance agency wont renew the contract. So now I am desperately searching for a health insurance while I wait for my PR status. I am married to my Canadian husband and we are in New Brunswick. Is there any chance that I can get health insurance trough him ? Or which health insurance company would be the best for me to choose ? so that, for in case I need a hospital, special doctors, etc. I am on the safe side. There are so many insurances out there and my hubby and me just don`t know which one is reliable and affordable.

thank you very much in advance !

Can you be covered with insurance from your husband's work if he has one?
I do not have provincial health insurance becuz I am with visitor visa.
but I am covered with my husband's work insurance so it paid some of my doctor's fee (eye doctor, dentist etc)

You plan to apply inland and assume you would apply OWP too.
so if you find full time job with good health coverage, then less worries until you receive your pr.

I don't know what the rules around New Brunswick's provincial medical is, but in Ontario you were able to get OHIP with the OWP as long as you have a full time job (which is a recent change, they used to just give it to you even if you didn't have a job).

You should check the NB rules and see if you can get it with just AOR, or OWP. For sure you can get it with AIP, but that won't be for a long time considering you haven't yet filed.

Out of curiosity, why are you applying inland? It's probable outland will be faster. And you can apply outland even though you are living in Canada.
