Health card questions

I'm American my wife sponsored me now we're just waiting for my passport to be returned. I have a few questions. I know you have to prove you've lived in Ontario for 3 months, is that before or after you get your passport I have our satellite bill in my name so would that count as proof? Its been in my name since January. My other question is can my wife add me to her benefits plan at work if I don't have a health card?

The three month wait starts as soon as you land. So you will qualify for health care three months after the day you land and officially become a PR.

For the benefits question, your wife will have to call her benefits provider and ask since each provider has different rules. I wasn't able to add my husband until he had an actual health care number.
