Hi everyone

I'm planning to create an express entry profile, here's my concern:

I have 6 years and 6 months of full-time work experience as an Administrative Assistant (Skill Level B), however during the last 2 years of that period I have also studied full-time (It is actually possible in my home-country) which got me an Associate's Degree in Urban Planning. So I was wondering when I submit my documents, do you think they'll reject my education or those 2 years of work experience which is in concurrence with my studying period? I sure hope for the latter!

An expert opinion on this is highly appreciated

??? Why would they reject either? LOL, you can use both.

Well, I've read on many forums that CIC doesn't recognize full-time education and work experience that's been done simultaneously, so they usually deem one of them as unacceptable and don't place points for it! What worries me is that they might go for my education in this case! as ignoring those last two years of my work experience is not going to make much of a difference!

I have been on this board many years and I have never seen that. It is certainly not in the ministerial instructions or in the rules that IRCC posts on its website.

What IS posted in the rules relates ONLY to Canadian work experience. If someone is studying in Canada on a study permit, they cannot claim any work experience completed while they were a student.

It was truly a heartwarming response. Thank you!
