We are about to send in our application, my wife is Canadian by decent but have lived her whole life in Canada, I'm Danish. We are currently living in Denmark.

Our situation is that we are due to have a baby end of February, we are not sure if we should put that on the application somehow, or should we wait until the baby is born? There is a good chance the application will still be in the process of being approved when the baby is born, how will we then inform the VO?

We were from Pakistan and had same situation

In my application package; there was a form in which it is asked about pregnancy, mention it in that form and also tell the expected due date and attach the scans etc, I think you should not wait for the baby birth and apply right now if the application is ready.
Congrats on the lil one in advance :)

I have shared what we did; and do not know about your visa office and requirements so be guided by the senior members :)

If you have not applied yet, I would include pregnancy-related documents (such as doctor's note) in the "proof of genuine relationship" section, as additional proof.

If you have already applied, then probably you do not need to do anything until the baby is born. Once your baby is born, you do need to notify the VO about it. When did you apply? Do you have stage 1 (sponsorship) approval yet? If you do, you already have a UCI and File number. You can use your UCI to contact the VO handling your case - without a UCI I think they might have a hard time matching your inquiry to your info on their files. You could email your VO, or use the Case Specific Inquiry - I believe you can find the form on the website of the VO handling your case.

Congratulations!

You do not need to wait to file your application, but once the baby is born you will have to let CIC know about it. Also, if your wife cannot pass down Canadian citizenship to the baby, then you will need to add the baby to your application so it will receive PR at the same time as you do.

You do not have to wait until the baby is born to submit the PR application. You can submit it now and update the application to add the new baby to the application. The baby will not have Canadian citizenship since the mother is Canadian by descent and cannot pass on Canadian citizenship. So the baby will need to be added to the PR application so that the baby will also get PR.

05-02-2015 Finally
My hubby is Canadian by birth but we found out we were expecting after the application was submitted but I emailed Ottawa of the situation as of now they have requested his birth certificate ( he was born in August) and I had notified them of my due date in the previous email. So we'll see.
