Hello, this might be a new one! Hopefully there is someone out there who has gone through the same situation.. :)

My wife and I recently had medicals done and we are expecting to receive our PR in the next few months.
My wife is pregnant (10 weeks) and we were thinking about different options regarding where to have the baby (Here in Canada? or go back home to S.Korea?)

Advantage of going back to S.Korea to have the baby is, we would be with family and my wife would have a lot of support.
What would happen to the baby's status if we choose to have the baby in Korea?

Hi vehementsnow,

If you choose to do that you will have to apply for the immigration of your child, your baby won't have any status in Canada; on the other hand if you choose to have your baby here, your child will have Canadian Citizenship.

Dont do that. It may takes years to bring your baby to Canada. The best option is giving birth here and your family travel home after 2-3 weeks.
