haven't used SIN number in last 6 years

Hi,

My husband is canadian citizen and we are living in usa from last 6 years. I haven't used my canadian SIN or haven't paid canadian taxes.

Do I have to do anything before starting job again in canada?

You'll need to go in and apply for a new SIN card. I was gone for 16 years and told after 5 years your SIN goes dormant. They have to mail in a paper application to reactivate it and you'll get the card in the mail.

What I done with mine was complete an application and they would sent to New Brunswick to reactive the SIN card again.
