I have this particular situation, on 2005 a US visa was canceled to me, then I applied 3 times and was denied, at the 4 time US consulate approved me the visa again on 2009, no problems since then traveling many times to US for tourist and business, now I will apply to canadian visa, and when I read the question on the NEW format: Have you ever been refused any kind of visa, been ordered to leave or refused admission to Canada or any other country? I am confused and I really don't know what to answer, I really want to put NO because I think Canada is Canada and US is the US, and I suppose that Canada does not check records on the US, and if by answering NO maybe my visa will be approved, if I answer Yes I am afraid my application could be denied, what do you recomend me to answer, my US visa is in the same passport that I will sent to Canadian consulate with the visa application, just one more note on my US visa there is a legend that says CLASS RECORD DOES NOT INDICATE INELIGIBILITY, and that US visa will be to the eyes of the canadians officers.
My purpose of this visa is going on business trip to a GM Vehicle Assembly plant and I have a letter of invitation from my potential business partner in Canada (in this case a letter of General Motors Canada) all the expenses will be paid by my company I work for and they will pay too my Canadian visa application.
I am from MEXICO

I think its better if you indicate YES and briefly explain why, atleast you're not worried of keeping something from them and maybe the consul will appreciate more that you are honest with them, if ever they would really look into details and find out that you lied it can be a reason for denial. i was refused for a visa to us and when i applied to canada i stated that.

And when you replied that, your Canadian visa was approved anyway??? I really need this visa, is a good business oportunity, hope if I put Yes and give this same explanation, this won't become a reason to deny my Canadian visa even if I am honest.
Thanks

The answer in your case is clearly Yes. Don't lie. If you lie and are found out - you'll be slapped with a two year ban from entering Canada and can forget about ever being approved for a work or tourist visa again. Remember that the US and Canada share records.

Thanks a lot for your advice, I am still on time to modify my visa form, just one more question if I answer Yes, does not mean that the canadian visa will be denied, right???

Correct - if you answer yes, this does not mean that the Canadian visa will be denied by default.

However there is obviously always a chance of refusal. There is nothing you can do to guarantee an approval.

Hello Folks,
Recently I been refused 'Schengen Visa' and Denmark embassy stamped on my passport that 'Applied for Schengen visa -GCS' .
My question is that would that stamp put bad impression on future application to visit/work permit to any country ?

Kindly advise !!!!!
