Have you and your sponsor lived together?

Hello,

This question is tricky because we have lived together for short periods of times that ranged from 1 week to 1 month. But I live in usa, we have not lived together permanently. I'm not sure if I want to say no, and explain that we did live together when we visited each other but not permanently since I had to come back to the states to continue my obligations here as a student and she is a student in canada.

The other option is to say yes and just give them all the days we visited each other but this would be redundant since there is a question that asks the same thing.

Anyone went through a similar situation or have any insights?

We put yes for that question and wrote the duration after. Even though we only lived together from january to april (time of visit)

Maybe I'm interpreting this wrong but I took it that you were supposed to be cohabitating continuously for at least a year before applying. My partner arrived in Canada Aug 3/15 and we opened a joint bank account the next day so to prove that we had been living together for 12 months. We applied on Aig 3/16 and the letter from the bank supported that we had been living together for 12 minths.

Just letting you know what we did.

Are you married? It changes your application if you are not married
 
This question is not asking about the kind of cohabitation that leads to common-law status. I would put down every time you stayed with each other, even if it was just for a short time. There is a lot of case law on this question where the judges clearly thought the couple should have put down 'yes' even for stays as short as one week.
