Have a work permit, my passport expires soon

I have recently moved to Canada at the start of the year on a two year working permit. Ideally this would run through until December 2018 but my passport expires in May 2018.

Obviously I need to renew my passport soon. But does anybody know what impact this will have on my visa and who I could talk to about this? Thanks

Do you mean,

1. Can you extend your permit to get the full two years once you renew? Yes

or

2. Will renewing your passport effect your current permit as it stands? No, it wont impact your current permit
