I read the assessment it says if your medical exam is less than 15 months then you need to email to get is assessed and have it extended for another 12 months. It gives email address but which would it be ottawa for us?

If the medical is more than 15 months then a new medical will need to be redone. OMG i am so confused my hubby has a medical expiration of december 18 2012 and we still have no interview date. does this mean I should email now and get it extended right away? huh help? Luvcuba me too now so confused
I re-read and re-read, I get it. officer is the one to judge. Like in your case Luvcuba instead of having hubby redo a full medical since you are still in the 15 month timeframe of the last medical. the officer will have his medical reassessed and have it extended without undergoing a new medical. If it had been more than 15 months since the last exam then he would need to go get another one done. all that matters is that we need to do nothing. The officer is the one who needs to do either or :D

ppsandy79; how I read it is it up to the officer to request the reassessment and extension. If they want another full medical done they will give the paperwork at the interview. Reason for new medical additional testing required...

ppsandy79; I agree; guess we have to be patient and wait and see. Hopefully reassessment will be extending his medical by 12 months . At least I'll be able to let you know once he has the interview. :)

i am glad we got it!!!! I think this is most favorable for countries where the medical is paid for. Like in Brazil I hear it is close to $1000. Thank god havana is free!

I think the difference between your two cases is that Luvcuba, your interview and decision on your case will likely be before the expiration date. It seems Havana is taking about 2-3 months to contact ppl after their application is transferred, so ppsandy yours will likely expire before the file is complete. Either way though, I think you will be contacted should you need to re-do it. I think their decision to extend it or not also has to do with whether or not your application was submitted to CIC within 3 months of the medical being done.

LuvCuba, you may have said this but did your husband get his baja already? He should get everything he can ready for the PRE asap. What province is your husband from? Mine was told he may be able to apply in advance for it, but that's in Holguin, others have been told that it's not possible. Like Shuster said, things in Cuba can change based on the moon phase and tides (me and hubby had a laugh about that comment over the wknd btw Shuster lol), so Im having him go and check it out again at the end of the week. Today is his bday so i didnt get him stressed about anything! 3 months in havana for us would bring us to beginning of december. so if we get lucky enough to get a phonecall by then i want to have everything ready to go by early january. Getting PRE in advance would benefit this...

We will all be fine! :) We will all get our turn! with Shuster next, of course!! :D

Havana is not paid for at the time, but the 400 of the 550 you pay to get the PRE is the cost of the medical, is it not?

hmmm.. not sure, but you do end up paying 60$ a month while waiting so it could end up contributing... there are no costs for PVE medical? I find that strange because youre still leaving the country... I dont know much about it because ive been planning for PRE the whole time

He did receive his baja (free to go papers?). I've told him to get the marriage certificate. Not sure how long it takes to get a new marriage certificate. Hubby is from Cardenas.

Fingers crossed you'll hear this week Shuster. Let's hope October works out to be a great month. KJG has approval; hopefully mine on October 25 and Shuster your interview waived. :)
