OMG congrats on the visa!!! How long did it take in Havana for you???

Ok so you know what then I never got the AOR. I just received the email on 10/12 saying that I have met the standards to be a sponsor and that the file was being transferred to Havana. I got this by email. So if three weeks or so then by October 31st it should be arriving in Havana. Do they open the package right away..hmmmmmm i doubt it lol. I got the Unique Client number thingy so i choose that from the drop down menu and fill in the rest of the info right? How long before I should see something????

Hubby right now is back in Guantanamo since he had to apply for his baja and leave work. He is enjoying time with his family and learning french lol since his english is good enough.

Yes one year already..wow time does fly. Yours is coming up Thanks for all your help!

Welcome Sandy! You and I are right on schedule with eachother. I received my sponsorship approval October 2! It's nice to have someone to count the days with and interesting to compare time lines! My husband is from Bayamo and we met in Havana through friends. The online application status says recieved July 24 and medicals recieved. I expect it not to change until they complete the application.

So I'm starting to want to go down for a weekend off too... I never thought of going for such a short trip but boy do I ever need it!! Its more difficult for me because I am in Halifax, more exspensive, but I already have a one way ticket Hmmmm...decisions....lol

Hey DDG!!! Yes we are right next to each other. How nice!!! I filed the 27th of July and received my approval on the 10th of October. However I do not see an update yet on that site. How long after did you see something so I get an idea. What does medicals received mean?

Wow Halifax yup that it for sure more expensive. I have done the weekend thing and believe me it can be more ecpensive than a a week all inclusive for sure. Last year for christimas I piad 900 for my plane for four days. Crazy but worth it!

Hey Sandy.....you need 10 posts and then you can go to your profile and do that!!! So your ecas should start working sometime next week....usually as soon as you have been approved it will show the application recieved ....in your case July 27th.....then it will say medicals received and that will be it until you get an interview. Our ecas never did show "in process" went right to decision made...but last week when I got home and checked on Wed or Thurs they had my Ontario address down as my husband's address.....almost made me cry!!!! LOL.....

our file was in Havana for approximately 2.5 months before we heard from them....nothing from them at all until my husband got the phone call!! I tried emailing about 8 weeks in and I got a generic reply back saying don't bother us we are within the CIC time frame.....which is 10 months......

the reason I knew it took 3 weeks was because when I finally received a letter from the embassy it said we received your file on July 11, 2012....three weeks after sponsorship approval.....also when we got the dnd letter it was dated August 22, 2012 and three weeks later it was post-marked Sept 12 from Canada Post in Mississauga.....so it seems to be a three week turnaround on things......

so luvcuba try this....the exact same thing always happened to me so what I did was hit the arrow back button at the top of your screen reinput the application number and try again.....for some reason I always had to do that when looking under my husband's name.....and I just lucked out figuring that out!!!!

KJG. confused..the letter you got saying July 11 is that not the DND letter? We get two letters from the emassy in Havana? I tought it was called the DND showing the date received in havana and with a do not disturb date of at least 6 months. NO?

the letter was dated Aug 22 saying the received my file in Havana on July 11th and don't call them until after January 11, 2013....but this was recieved 3 weeks after our call for the interview!!!

ok thanks KJG!!! as other people have told there is no real pattern with Havana lol. I guess we will just wait and see!

I did not do double top up....figured....phone or pre......pre won..LOL...sad but not even an extra $20 this week for that but oh well...such is life and thankfully that part of it will be over soon.....

Yes : ) well we were married in June. And we have our first child ( a daughter) on the way...due December 3 2012. He is from Santa Clara. I just submitted my app this week...so I am waaaayyy behind all you ladies : ) But I have learned so many things...and the great thing is I now know what to expect.....which is inconsistencies LOL
As you said....it is great to have these ladies to talk to, they are all the experts...and they will make you laugh too : )

Speaking of which...KJG ....everytime I look up at the emoticons this one makes me almost pee myself (not hard since the pregnancy) but really I cannot look at it the same way anymore.

Yay!! Congrats sassy! We have been trying to get pregnant and is why I stay so long and went so many times. lol Nothing happened. Once thought I was and was 23 days late. They gave me an untrasound there and took a picture of a cyst in my ovary. I brought it to my doctor here in May and I waited to get into a fertilty specialist. I had my first consult in Sept. My husband had his sperm analyzed in Cuba and I brought back the report. Everything was ok. So, I just went last week to have my uterus and fallopian tubes xrayed. Everything is ok there too. Most women get pregnant after this xray because it flushes things out, wish hubby was here...lol. It's makes you more fertile for up to 6 months. I'm scheduled to go back to Cuba December 10. End of the month I have to have blood work to see if I'm ovulating on my own at all. Then will start me on fertility drugs. She took blood last week too and told me I'm not too old to have a baby (I'm 35). So.... haha this is why I want to go down for 'a weekend'. I want to make a baby! lolol I guess I can tell immigration too that I didn't go on my September-October trip because I was doing fertility things here to be fertile when I get there!! I'm so worried that we have this gap in our trips.
