Ok....more questions about acrynoms:
PRE ???
PVE ??

I keep seeing this and mean to ask.
Those are the 2 exits visas married Cubans can leave on

PRE- Permiso de residencia en el exterior
Pve- permiso de viajar en el exterior

If they arrive here on a PVE which quicker and cheaper in Cuba, they then have to apply for the PRE once here in Canada and be approve for it, you also have to pay $50 another while waiting.
PRE takes longer and is around $550-600 in Cuba but then it's all taken care of before they come.

Ok if they leave on the PVE do they need the PRE before they can return to Cuba, or can we go back to Cuba and get it. I ask because his daughter is getting Visa too, but we want him to come first for a month or 2 and go back to get her before her Visa is expired.

Hey ya'll!! Im in a super mood despite having to leave home in the middle of the night to make my flight, and I'm sure no one else in the world understands this more than you girls! ;D I will officially get my hug and kiss in t-17 hrs or so! Then we've got lotssss of traveling but we'll be together, so nothing else matters! Thanks for the good wishes Sassy! I'm hopi1ng after this trip I'll be able to hold myself together till dec 21 when I go back! It'll be a long two months.... Yay your app is delivered!! Hope up on the train! it's not fun but at least you're on it!

From what I hear--(not an expert) PVE can take a week or two, and a PRE can take up to a month or two, with some people getting it as quick as the PVE even! Problem with PVE is that I've heard if you do it here it may take up to 10 months (or it has in certain cases) and then you have to pay a monthly fee of about 50$ until you get the PRE. I think what makes me want the PRE so bad is that it has "residencia" in it and it makes it final! lol I've heard that Holguin is willing to sometimes do it in advance, but if Visa is refused you lose the money. We may try for that mid nov if we havent heard anything by then. I guess it depends on the province (It's a provincial thing), if they would do this or not because I've heard some ppl say it's impossible, but they told my hubby it could be done. But as you know with Cuba, you never really know! might be someone's negocio somewhere.... lol :p

Re: PVE-PRE

No they cannot return on the PVE and then reapply for the PRE in Cuba
The PVE is single entry out and the 1 return. (As far as I know)
If they get stuck in Cuba on the PVE trying to apply for a PRE, they may never issue it.
And yes there have been cases of them coming on a PVE and made to wait almost the for 11 months and 31 days until the PRE is issued
For me personally I just figure that we have waited long enough so why not just hold out and get the PRE.
Also if they come on a PVE, they can't travel back to Cuba until they have the PRE and with my hubby's mom being older and somewhat I'll, I can imagine the thought of him not being able to go back at any moment.

Hubby went to immigration in Havana, and they told him they no longer allow people to "PRE-apply" for the PRE.

Do you think it could be different for different provinces?

I agree. What is a difference of 3 weeks when the wait to get there was so long. I think that is what I would do too.

Yes....I am definitely on the same page with shuster2210 and we are applying for the PRE......my husband has his letter, his government book and the $550 cuc to take tomorrow to the immigration office....they told him 20 to 25 days to issue the pre and possible faster....my husband is in Matanzas.....

honestly when Yoani gets here from Cuba the last thing I want to do is go to the Cuban consulate and apply for a pre and worry about when it will come :( and I believe it is now $60 a month while you wait but I don't know the actually fee for the application itself when you do it here....

and Matanzas would not allow him to pre-apply for the pre either!!!

I am stressing re Juan's interview on the 25th. Trying to decide if I should be there or not. What should he take with him? I was there 1 week in august and last 2 weeks in September. I believe Juan has his liberation letter; what else should he take with him for immigration office after approval (I'm being optimistic). Is it after approval you decide on PRE OR PVE? We are doing the PRE. My husband is from Cardenas; so if he can get everything done while in Havana that would be great.
If I don't go I'll have to be sedated here on the 25th...ahhh
Have a great trip Avana.
