hahaha....that is what we did with friends on the friday night...all the emails, texts all the crap they give back to you....no way was I hauling all that back again.........so we burned it.....damn it felt so good......LOL

Ordered the gcsm notes 2 weeks ago so hopefully I'll have them before I go down!

yes...the cubans love their phones but they look at the number and then decide hmmmm do I answer it....LOL.....but I guess in one way I understand but it is frustrating....

you will definitely have them before you go...and fyi....the computers I was on there would not open the attachment it is "restricted" so had to email a friend back in canada to open and read and text me!!!

I really am going to procrastinate about the closet and dressers.....once I have his flight booked I will probably think okay its time!!!

Congrats KJG!! You must be sooo happy and relieved!! I don't think you realize just how stressful the process is until the wave of relief hits you when you get the visa! Good luck on the big move!

Well I have a *little* October success myself! I officially have our Quebec papers (approval of undertaking + his certificates for provincial documents) in my hand as of NOW!

It was longer than usual so was getting me worried. I called them last week and they gave me verbal approval, but theres something about having it in writing that makes me feel relieved. ;D

Now its a matter of getting these papers to him ASAP, so looks like I have no other choice but to go see my hubby this weekend!! haha how sad! Its double the reason I had before!! Spoke to my boss, and I got Friday off, so looks like itll be Fri-Sun whirlwind but worth it!! Then everything will be ready for us when havana calls us and he's ready to go!!

KJg-- wait, you mean they give you allllllll those papers back when you get your visa?? ??? lol makes me rethink how much I sent to begin with! May be worth the travel back from Havana-Holguin but only for that burning party you girls were talking about! haha

I just read what you were all writing about and I send my husband this message :Baby you know I told you you have to answer the phone even if you don't recognize the number, right?" and his response was : yes baby, I know. lol!!


sassy-- Yayyyy let us know when its officially mailed. This calls for a toast for everyone here!!

yes they give everything back except the application.....they kept a few emails but nothing else........so now Yoani is busy handing out pictures to his friends and his family cause we already have ours and don't need them!!!!!!

This week Juan turned off his phone due to calls he was getting with no one answering; then he forgot to turn it back on till 2 days later.
I had a friend who was together for 4 years and her hubby got a call to come get his visa; so maybe Shuster you'll get the same call. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.....
I checked CIC website and it does show Juan's interview as oct 25; do you check on-line for status?
Curious; where is everyone from? I'm west of Toronto

Yes fingers crossed a call will come this week. He's been doing a lot of work on our house lately and hasn't been answering the phone...he says "I'm up on scaffolding, what do u want me to do??" I told him to duct tape the phone to his head so that its hands free!!!

SOooooo my package is officially in the hands of Purolator! All we can do is wait now. I can focus on getting ready for our daughter (due in less than 8 weeks) and then start to figure out life in Cuba for 3 months....with a newborn lol It will be great....they say it takes a village to raise a child...and well we know that is how it works in Cuba everyone knows everyone....and everyone does their part.

Whooo hoo!!! Weekend getaway!! So jealous....but you oh so deserve it! Where will you be flying into? Or is that still up in the air?

SOooooo my package is officially in the hands of Purolator! All we can do is wait now. I can focus on getting ready for our daughter (due in less than 8 weeks) and then start to figure out life in Cuba for 3 months....with a newborn lol It will be great....they say it takes a village to raise a child...and well we know that is how it works in Cuba everyone knows everyone....and everyone does their part.

October IS shaping up to be a great month for all of us!
