Has anyone physically been to the High Commission of Canada in Delhi

I am really frustrated by the delay in processing my application and the complete lack of status updates. I was wondering if I can just go to the office of the High Commission in Delhi and just talk to someone. Has anyone been there physically? Are you allowed to go in? If I show up at the door will they let me talk to someone?

Hi,

You will not be allowed into the High Commission at ND.

There's no delay in processing your visa. The estimated time according to the CIC website is 17 days.... it could be faster or take much longer depending on each case.

Which city are you applying from in India?
Do you have confirmed flight tickets?

Cheers

Hi Bryanna,

Thanks for your response.

I am currently in Pune.

I am freaking out because I have a job in Toronto (on a Post Graduate Work Permit). I came to India on a vacation without realizing that my visa had expired (stupid mistake). I need to get back to work asap. I have already missed my returning flight. Will need to book another one once I hear from CIC.

What's frustrating is that MyCIC shows no updates other than "submitted". If I was at least told that 4 out of 7 steps have been taken, I would know that someone was working on it. Right now, my application could even be lost, I have no idea!

Also, the decision should be fairly obvious. I have a PGWP, I have a job in Toronto, I came to India for three weeks for holidays. What's the complication? What's taking them so long?

Thanks.

Hi,

It's perfectly understandable..... but *freaking out* will not solve your situation :)

There's no information about where online applications are processed in India. However, paper applications (submitted to VFS Pune) are processed by the Bangalore visa office.

Your guess about why it is taking this long is as good as our guess.

You must send a Case Specific Enquiry to the Bangalore visa office.... NOT to NDVO..... You can google for the link.

Do provide your return flight details + employment details, etc and request the visa office to make an expedited decision. You may also want to mention that you can provide any other information/evidence to help the VO to make a decision.

You cannot do anything else other than send a CSE. You cannot enter the consulate and speak to anyone about the status of your visa application

All the best and hope you get your visa soon :)

So the Bangalore visa office's website says:

If you wish to contact Immigration please use the following e-mail address: BAGLR-IMMIGRATION@international.gc.ca

Is this where I should email my case specific enquiry? Or do I need to fill up a form somewhere?

BAGLR-IMMIGRATION@international.gc.ca
This is for general enquiries. You can send an email

Also try this:

Thanks for the link.

But this one goes to CIC, right? Or is there a way to specify that I want to send it to the Bangalore visa office? You said: "You must send a Case Specific Enquiry to the Bangalore visa office.... NOT to NDVO....."

Also, your link says they will respond only if the normal processing time has been exceeded. Perhaps I should wait for 17 days to pass then?

It certainly goes to CIC.

Until very recently, there were specific CSE links for each visa office.... Bangalore, London, etc etc. Those links don't exist now. I cannot find them... you can google to recheck

Yes
