Has anyone exchanged a full UK Driving Licence in Toronto in 2017?

Hello!
I have a driving licence from the UK and will bring it to Toronto when I move early next year.
I read in many places that UK licences can be exchanged for a full G licence right away.

Can anyone (ideally with experience of doing so) confirm the procedure for me?

I am not a UK resident anymore and was on a visa during my stay.

Did u get canada license by exchanging of uk dvla.. wat documents r required?? I hv uk license 3 years old..
