-We received your application for permanent residence on May 4, 2018.
-We felt you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application (s) on May 12, 2018.

Does that mean that my application is already being processed or I still have to wait for that?

They are telling you that they received your application, whereas "processing" it has yet to happen but you're in the queue
