I have applied H1 visa's 10000 worker visa application in July 16, 2023. I and all my dependents finished all the requirements along with biometrics on 4th January. After waiting 9 and a half months, we got passport submission request letter and we got the visa. Here's my experience
I will share my original passport submission process experience (US to CAN) in detail here so that it can be useful to anyone at the same stage.
Once you get Original Passport Request Letter, you will need to send your and your dependent’s passport along with the supporting documents.
Step - 1 : Review this link

Step - 2 : Create a VFS Global account and pay two way courier fees which costed $73.50 with primary applicant detail.

Step - 3 : You DO NOT need to send separate envelopes. You create one envelope for each of the applicant and put them all in another envelop together and put the Courier Label on the main envelope.
Gather below documents for each of the applicant
Step - 5 : You’re done with your part. Make sure to track it regularly. Below is my timeline.
September 12, Thursday - I got Original Passport Request Letter in IRCC
September 13, Friday - Gathered all the documents and print all that’s necessary
September 14, Saturday - got the money orders and tried to courier assuming return label will be generated at Fedex, it is not. (Unnecessary delay)
September 16, Monday - I couriered the envelope first thing morning
September 17, Tuesday - VFS received it (tracking id will be generated and sent in the email mentioned in contact information page)
September 18, Wednesday - VFS Sent it to IRCC and IRCC changed the status to IN PROGRESS
September 19, Thursday - in IRCC account got a notification, “Your eligibility has been reviewed. Please see the final decision below.” (Visa is stamped)
September 20, Friday - The decision envelope for your application was sent from IRCC to VFS global. You’ll get 2 emails at this stage
The decision envelope for your application, tracking ID No. XXXX has been received from the IRCC Office ….
The decision envelope for your application, tracking ID No. XXXX has been couriered from the Canada Visa Application Centre ….
September 23, Monday - We received the passport in our hand 9:00 am in the morning.
They only deliver on weekdays and require signature so be available on the day when they deliver your passport.

- Original Passport
- IRCC Passport request letter
- VFS Global two way courier Confirmation Letter
- TT Services Consent Form (Hand-written or e-filled is fine but signature has to be with pen [prefer blue pen to distinguish])
- Money Order/Cashier’s Check for Package Transmission Fee - $22.20 - payable to “VFS Services (USA) Inc”
- Contact information (name, email, address, phone number) written on a blank paper
- Money Order/Cashier’s Check for return label of all the rest of the applicants - $36.30 - payable to “VFS Services (USA) Inc”
- IRCC Passport request letter
- Old passport copy of all pages (If there’s a new passport after the application was started)
- Name change supporting documents (Marriage Certificate)
- You only need to send one original passport which is new with the latest names
- In all the money orders, make sure you don’t forget
- Enter your own Address, memo (reason to pay - I put “Canada Visa”) and signature - do not leave those fields blank
- If you have a child that’s born in US with US passport, no need to apply for them. If they have Indian passport they will be your dependent so add another envelop for them
- You can add another money order for getting SMS notification (I did not as email is good enough, amount I think - $2.50)
- If it’s a PR application, you need to attach 2 photos as per IRCC specifications.
