Hi every one,

Actually, I have applied for MEng Electronic System Engineering for Fall2012 Session at UofR, I need to know if i fail to be accept by any Supervisor, Would i get rejected?? Cuz I came to know from Faculty of Graduate Studies if i would not occupy seat under the supervision of any professor or in other words would`t get accepted then they will reject Becuase according to them there is no Course-based Engineering Program !!!!!!!:O:O

Unfortunately I haven`t yet get accepted by any professor
senior guys, its terrifying and literally not done
Assist me in this matter

yes its basically thesis based program... so you should go toh the faculty of your program webste.. mails some of the professors.. read about their reasearch work and interests and the one who suits you.. mail him and say that you want are really interested in doing research with him and all that... and you already applied ... all like this..

I that supervisor accepts you then you are in..

SAQ looks like you have applied for the thesis program and normally its kinda hard to get into thesis program because you should have a professor endorsing you and should be willing to take you as your research student. for that you have to personally contact the professors and convince them that you want to do research. finding a professor is easy once you are in university and meet them face to face. so better option is to apply for a non-thesis program what they normally called MENG course based.after getting here you can change your masters program from course to thesis base kinda easily. but getting direct admission in thesis is kinda difficult unless you have done researches at your undergraduate level.

Bro, I am wrong, do correct me..
Actually MEng ESE at UofR works in a different way . I mean You are right Meng doest go with Research but Usuallly Meng have 2 streams Project-based or Course based..
In this Scenario, they dont have course-work under MEng ,so thats mean we should be accepted by some professor...
But On the contrary, One of the professor told me that students dont to get accepted by any professor..We will select 20 -40 qualified student by our own..

But I came across, getting acceptance in MENG is quite tough??Is it rite?

Well, i`m worried because i lack CGPA in my Undergrad. i.e 2.67 aggregate that makes up 70% according to Pakistan education standard..
though I have 6.5IElts and 2+ plus experiecne

I need your favor , If you can tell how to convince any professor if you have any email after any one get accepted.please share

I have applied for research based MASc Process Engineering program in U of R Fall 2012 and also found a potential supervisor.Though I have spent almost couple of months to find a supervisor and then I submitted my application.I submitted my application at the end of last month and as per my communication with my supervisor he has finalised my application from the department and sent it back to FGSR.So they are processing fast and now I am waiting for a reply from the FGSR.I don't know why they are asking you to look for a supervisor even though you have applied in a non research based MEng program.Have you made a phone call to them?I think so better thing is to talk Amy over the phone to discuss this.
Also MEng course based or project based are both the same thing as far as I know.If you choose a program of course based you have to submit a project at the end of your studies whereas in research based program you have to submit a thesis under somebody's supervision.
To get into an MEng program is no doubt really tough as too many people apply and only those get into who have got outstanding marks in previous studies.And for MASc its really hard to find a potential supervisor but as soon as you convince a supervisor and you have got good credentials your admission is almost done depends upon you fulfil their minimum admission requirement.I can help you in sending email to a professor and how to convince them.Give me your email address.Thanks
