Honorable members,

I am a fresh graduating student of B.E.(Electronics) degree program from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan.. waiting for announcement of result for the final semester (i.e. 8th Semester) in July 2012.

Despite the fact that NUST is rated as one of the best engineering universities in Pakistan, my GPA for the above mentioned bachelor's degree is too low, being only 2.23/4.00 till Semester-VII..

Low GPA doesn't mean that I was a 'dumb student', as it may appear at first impression.. In my case, it simply means that my mind was not compatible with the 'Pakistani System of Education', and I had no other choice than to complete my studies from NUST, Pakistan.. There were a number of problems that I encountered, which can be discussed, if required..

Anyways, coming to the point.. My ultimate aim is to pursue Master's degree from Canada in the field of Electrical/Electronics/Telecommunication Engineering.. but the direct route for entry to the Master's degree looks almost impossible with such a low GPA.. Hence, I have decided to opt for Graduate/Postgraduate Diploma and Honor's Certificate Programs in Canada.. and then upgrade the same to the Master's degree program..

Also, note that I appeared for the IELTS Test on 31/03/2012.. and managed to secure 6.5 overall, with individual bands: Speaking (5.5), Listening (6.0), Reading (6.5), Writing (7.0)..

Which universities in Canada would you recommend in my case?

Please reply.. Thank you!

Sincerely,

Ahsan

Hello. It depends on what province you want to go.But preferably, you should contact some schools and communicate with them regarding their entry requirements.compare the fees and see the one that are affordable for you.

Thanks for the reply.. Its quite helpful!

However, my priority would be to get into the right university that accepts the students with similar academic credentials as mine, rather than choosing a province or viewing the financial requirements..

Thanks, anyways! :)
