Hi guys,
I am getting married and preparing documents for my wife(future)'s PR file and i have some confusion. Thanks in advance for your time.

So , its an arrange marriage and we met through our parents and i went to see her in india this january. we dated for a while to get to know each other . We didn't commit because we needed some time. Finally we decided to move forward and finally getting married. I am going back to india for few weeks and we are getting engaged and also going to register our marriage , so we can start processing her PR file. So currently we have engagement ceremony only.

Question:
i contacted few people who applied for similar PR process and they told me l need photos of wedding ceremony and ring ceremony both . So , my question is , can we do a little marriage ceremony on the same day and ring and attach the photos ? or i need to approach this different way. I have full time job and i cant keep going back for this kind of traditional ceremonies. I hope this is clear enough .

Thanks again.

From what I know, CIC distinguishes these ceremonies based on the norms in the specific culture. There are applicants who have gotten their applications refused because although CIC believes in the genuineness of their relationship, they don't believe the marriage is finalized (aka the big wedding ceremonies people in your culture may usually hold). You may want to consider when making your decision.

You will need to wait until your actual wedding ceremony until you submit your spousal sponsorship. Even a court marriage would likely be denied for an arranged marriage. You should wait until you actually are married and have had the ceremony and hopefully a honeymoon and show pictures from both the engagement party and visit and the marriage and trip. CIC is very familiar with the marriage customs from many countries but especially East Asian communities.
