I work for one of the IT major on H1B with just a year left for my max out. There is a good offer from another IT Major in US and they wanted me to join with the receipt notice (As the premium is suspended currently for extensions/transfers). I negotiated with them to initiate Canada work permit in parallel, if I have to join with the receipt notice. Surprisingly, they agreed to it and mentioned it would be possible only after I join and get at least two months of pay stubs.

I read somewhere that I should be associated with the organization at least a year to get the Canada work permit. Would it be possible to get work permit with just 3 or 4 pay stubs. Also, what other categories do we have apart from ICT?

Is it worth to trust and join on receipt notice? Your guidance is much appreciated.

Yes - the company has to employ you for at least a year before you will qualify for an ICT visa. No - it will not be possible to get an ICT approved with just 3 or 4 pay stubs.

As for other categories of work permit, your employer in Canada would need to obtain an approved LMIA so that you can apply for a closed work permit.
