i think its a waste of tax payers money for the gvt to focus on couples that have been MARRIED for 8 years and focus more on the real sham marriages!.
In the OP2 manual it clearly states for them to AVOID an interview if possible. As they focus on tearing my blissfully happy marriage apart, they could focus that time on tearing up a real sham marriage.
i/we are very happy to be inerviewed. I have been sent messages by people here to "study" the questions asked???. i dont need to study anything. im confident about my dh. after being together 10 years dontcgha think id be ?.

Not only that, i havent kept each and every single piece of evidence from ten years ago when we first met. I didnt know i would move to Canada!. At the time time i had no wish or desire to be here!. not until recently 8 years later that i thought it would be a nice place to raise my family.Infact, if i pulled out a safely kept document from ten years ago THAT SHOULD look suspicious!. who keeps each and every document ie telephone bills etc??. The only way i have the telephon record is because we wanted to keep it as a memento and a keepsake.of where e started and what we went through just to be together .

If you were an office dont you think i would have `rushed`to canada immediately and not wit until 8 years
All my evidence is scarce through out the years .But i have it!.. it is normal for us to go for a family outing and forget a camera!. Is it not normal for everyone?
Im just venting because they will waste time on me who has been married all this time while the real culprits who have just met`only get a glance

Thanks for wasting taxpayers money
Lets see who will have the last laugh.

im hoping to have some good news!..

If you are an Inland Applicant, it is most probable that the interview you are "waiting on" is your landing interview and not an interview to ascertain the genuineness of your relationship.

Keeping my fingers crossed that that is what it is!

thanks guys.. Just feeling a little `down`today!. Up to this day its just a little :strange` how they would question a marriage of 8 years as ingenuine and not a relationship of 1 year with about the same documentation as me..
How can a marriage of 8 years be ingenuineé.
i sit here and pray everyday for some good news..
Thanks for allowing me to vent.. and wouldnt it be bizzare if its for landing

I don't disagree with what you say, it seems crazy to me that they would want to interview you, but...

Stand in their shoes, maybe something in your documentation made the IO think, "I saw that before and the couple were a sham".
A couple could have separated after a few years of marriage and then decided at a much later date to "plan" immigration (for a fee)?
People can be really devious, and that is what the IO's are looking for. Sadly because others cheat and lie, we can all suffer, it's unfair but true.

Who knows what the immigration people think, the certainty is that they must see a lot of fake marriages, that must eventually add some bias to their judgement.

When you first meet your partner, taking pictures of absolutely everything is not likely to be usual, but the Canadian immigration process forces a "fake" activity on many people, and they wonder why we have no idea what they want!

I am sure you will sail through the interview, smile - it could be worse.

Youre probably right Baloo. Even though i dont have continous evidence of 8 years, Its just so so sad that after building a life, a family with your partner after all this time sonmeone questions it?.
I know what you are saying about the separation, but for me, i cant even think aout it as we have 3 children and it would hurt them more than it would hurt us to not be in it for love.
but youre right . maybe they saw something else?. Im notscared of the interview. its just that i think the whole process is effed up.

Thank you all for making me feel better.

I agree with you.... my husband and I have been married for 12 years and we have a 10 year old... we have never lived apart until this process... part of me feels like there should be a separate pile for people married as long as us so that they can just rubber stamp us as approved... it seems kind of silly to me that we would perpetrate a fraud marriage for TWELVE years... I have better things to do with my time.

I do understand the need to check and make sure things are completely true... its just frustrating to have to wait...

You'd think that an 8 or 12 year marriage wouldn't warrant anyone's suspicions, wouldn't you?

Lately though, I have taken to reading CanLII cases to do with marriages of convenience and I came across one case that dragged out so long, by the time they got to the 4th (yes, count them, 1 2 3 4) application refusal and appeal, the couple had been married NINE years. Guess what? The appeal was dismissed that time, too.

When you read the case notes, you come to realise that the "couple", after 9 years, 4 sponsorship/permanent residency applications still knew VERY little about each other, had VERY little evidence to show continued communication and contact, yet they still kept applying! Does that mean the marriage was genuine, just because they had been married 9 years? Not to the various appeal panels, from their reasoning all they could see was a man really motivated to come to Canada and a woman really motivated to help him get there, nothing more.

So, no, length of time together isn't going to sway Immigration, it's about the quality of that time. You have that, Black-Berry :) It's a pain in the behind to prove it, sure, but as far as I can see there's no reason you won't be approved. Try not to feel persecuted, it's just that they've gone cynical, faced with people willing to do just about anything to get to Canada. The good suffering for the bad, and all that. C'est le vie.
