I am thinking of immigrating to Quebec but I am at a loss in many steps beforehand
The main problem is due to the wide use of French in some of the links and documents like this one. Though I didn't have problem accessing many important and essential information, the " point system synthesis" which I think is the major thing to be considered is in french.......I am a beginner of french so I don't comprehend the language easily. Since posting hyperlinks is not allowed (maybe becoz I'm a new user ) , I request you to just copy and paste the quoted phrase in google and follow the pdf link : "GRILLE SYNTHÈSE DES FACTEURS ET CRITÈRES APPLICABLES " . I know this seems kinda trouble but i have no other alternative .
Ok, my queries are:
1) In the first section, the points to be awarded for academic achievements is given. I hold bachelors degree in civil engineering. How much points (out of max 28) will I receive?
2) In the section "CONNAISSANCES LINGUISTIQUES", the points for English and French langauage are given in a relative scale. I have achieved a 7.5 in IELTS (academic) and if I am able to get an A1 in DELF examination, what may be the probable average points (any guesses)?
3) the second last part of the form mentions "adaptabilite" ( fitness, I suppose). Will this factor be assessed after i have submitted my form or after preliminary selection? I have no other ailments rather than short sighted-ness ( myopia , -1).
All in all, I am an engineer, 27 year old with about 3.5 years of specific experience with a fair command of English language and studying French ( with a target to secure at least A1 level within 2 months)..Should I consider about applying?
