Grandparent visa- can you please help? much appreciated

Hello,

we would like to apply for grandparent visa for my mother in law: she is 68 yrs old, pensioner with husband and son at home, partially owning a house, in excellent medical condition. She is NOT from a visa exempt country. We would like to have her over for more than 6 months

My question is related to her eligibility: when we go to the CIC website to check eligibility and answer all the questions the result we get is that she is eligible for visitor status. It does not say that she is eligible for grandparent visa...Is this because the grandparent visa is a type of visitor visa so she is actually eligible or is it because she is not eligible?

Ignore my question - I figured out the answer. Your mother in law doesn't qualify for a super visa - only for a regular visitor visa. Once your spouse is a PR, your mother in law will qualify for a super visa.

Your child does not qualify as a sponsor (too young and not working).

thanks! my husband is citizen (naturalized ) and I am waiting for my PR. His mom is back where my husband was born which is a none visa exempt country. Does this change the answer you gave? thanks a mill!

If your husband is a Canadian citizen and he wants to invite HIS mother to Canada on a super visa - there should be nothing stopping him provided he meets the income requirements. She would be coming as a parent on the super visa (not grandparent).

yes, sorry I used the term incorrectly it would be a a parent supervisa, it is just confusing when we go through the eligibility steps online it says:
Visitors/Tourists - over 6 months

You may be eligible to come to Canada as a visitor/ tourist.

but it doesn't say that visitor status equals to the parent supervisa or just a regular visitor visa
