Hi guys,

I will be graduating this year, and Ive been looking for a job in only Ontario. The reason is that I think I read that getting a PR in Ontario will be easier for graduates from a university in Ontario. Like I think I heard someone mention that for CEC EE, getting PNP 600 points will be easier in Ontario for graduates here. Am I right or wrong? I'm really not sure about this.

Currently, there are not many jobs available in my field in ontario when I search, especially when counting only entry level ones. I feel like I might have a better chance if I apply to companies in other provinces as well. But will getting a PR through CEC EE along with PNP points harder?

Thanks.

Try calculating your CRS score. If you have a degree, it will definitely give you a higher score and then one year experience in NOC O,A or B level will add up.

Getting PR under CEC EE will be based on your score, which you can definitely gain from your experience and education anywhere in Canada. So far, the score for recent draws have been near 455.

Changing province can only help in PNP (which gives you additional 600 CRS points).

- Ontario can invite you for PNP if your CRS is above 400, you have at least a bachelors degree (no matter where you gained it from, as per my understanding) and your province of interest is Ontario (of course).
- There are some provinces which deduct your points for PNP, if you have education and experience from a different province.

You will have to decide accordingly.

Here is the link for calculator tool - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

You can check for different provincial programs on CIC website. Hope this helps.
