Hi Asivad/ Raj

1. Primary Applicant is working as Assistant Professor with University of Delhi which is fully Government-Aided University. All professors working in University of Delhi are called government employee and they enjoy all government benefits like pension, gratuity, health schemes etc.

http://www.du.ac.in/du/

Under Personal History section, in drop down menu of Activity Type, what should PA select?
Government or Employment ?

2. Secondary Applicant is working with Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, Government of India. Its a central government job appointed by President of India (as written on Appointment letter) and SA enjoy all government benefits like pension, gratuity, health schemes etc.

http://www.dot.gov.in/

Under Personal History section, in drop down menu of Activity Type, what should SA select?
Government or Employment ?

Please suggest.

Thanks

Government in both cases.
Thanks Asivad,
I understand that PA & SA should specify Government.
I am worried that in case we specify government then at any stage (let say during granting VISA), we may be asked to produce NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE (NOC) from our government Employer.

PA, being professor in University, may still manage to get NOC from her Employer but SA, being employed with Ministry, will never get NOC as Ministries are normally against such things.

What is your opinion?
Do you think that they can ask for NOC at any stage?
If they will ask then is it a good idea that SA lie in personal history section that he is unemployed?
What other repercussions can be there if being government employees?

I am confused.
Please suggest.
Thanks

You can remove spouse's experience from Work history but you'll still have to declare it in their Personal history - not worth lying about that.

I imagine that you won't be asked for any 'no objection' certificate - IRCC doesn't care about that.

Oh, great
no objection certificate for SA is the ONLY worry I had.
Thanks Asivad

I have Government employment in my work history, and so far, CIC has not asked for any kind of letter regarding that.

Did you submit reference letter for that Government letter? Did you claim points for that Government job?

It seems that you had left that Government job when you applied for PR.

Were you working with any state/ Government of India?

In my case, Primary/ Secondary Applicant are currently in Government Job so scenario may be different.
