got student visa: but confused

i have got my visa for mba in canada .... in the letter of introduction, its written study OR WORK permit...

in visa, ,its written category: S-1....

number of entries, multiple....

why its study OR WORK? why not ONLY study?

can you please share your experience?

I need your help in my case. .

I have got admission in Project management in Information technology (PMC) at Seneca @ York college and will be coming for Sept 2013

I am still arranging tuition fees and will pay soon.
I need to know that how many days college/bank will take to send you fee receipt??

I have heard that fee receipt is required for visa file, is it ??

I also need to know if only acknowledge mail is enough to apply for visa ??

u have got the visa its the standard letter which comes with all visas so its generic

usually they send receipt in a week or so (after receiving ofcourse) ... but if you are in hurry, you can apply before receiving their receipt copy (just attach the swift copy of your remittance provided by your bank)...good luck.

What you received I guess is the temporary residence visa. This is the visa given to students, tourists and migrant workers. You'll get your student permit upon entry to Canada in the immigration. So be ready with all the documents regarding your schooling when you get off that plane and line up in the immigration.

No not proof. They will ask where are you gonna stay and you should know.

If at relatives/friends know address. If already booked accomodation then no problem.

Your visa is without work permit unless you program has co-op along.

The letter you received is just general letter for study or work permit. May be they forgot to remove word -Work Permit.

It is not compulsory to deposit tuition before visa. But it creates a strong point.

If you don't have any funding or scholarship then you must be paying fee at least for the first term. So why not pay it and attach the receipt with the visa application. It will make your case stronger and they will consider you serious. Else they will think "why this person has not paid the fee? insufficient funds or have some dubious or mischievous plan"
