Got rejected from university of western ontario and waterloo

i am pursuing my BTech. in Computer Science.I had applied for Meng programme for sept 2013 intake.

My profile:
BTech(CSE)=74.7% till 6 semester

X standard(CBSE)=79%

XII standard(CBSE)=83.6%

IELTS=7 BAND OVERALL
LISTENING=7.5
READING=7
WRITING=6.5
SPEAKING=6

And i have got rejected from university of western ontario and university of waterloo. so please suggest me that whether i should choose some PG diploma programme at some college or i should target jan intake 2014.

With ur profile you should get into Uni of Victoria , MS CS course. (Course based) (Very modest fees of around 8k for the entire course , 16 months & a reputed Uni).

if ur intrested in ontario based uni's nd have a decent budget apply to Carleton, U of Ottawa , U of Windsor, U of Regina(LOW FEES) .

You should get acceptance from atleast 2 of the above mentioned.

Personally when it comes to colleges , i would recommend GBC only.

My suggestion , apply to the uni's i have listed & GBC.

both the uni's u applied to were dream uni's. Especially Waterloo , without a GRE/awsum academic scores/ strong work Ex theres no point appying there. Although it might not be mentioned in the department page , it is the best enng course in CS in canada. Very high competition.

Thanks bro for your suggestion. I have also applied to carleton ,ryerson and queens for Meng programme but i haven't got any replies from them till now and yes for sept intake i have only applied to the ontario universities but now as you are saying definitely i will try for victoria, Regina for Jan intake 2014 and can u tell me that whether i am eligible for victoria university or not ?Do u have any idea abt Dalhousie and concordia university and yes bro i have also looked for GBC but they are not offering any Postgraduate course related to the computer discipline .......

OK i will try it for jan intake 2014 but bro i am interested in more Meng programme in ECE so whether my choice is right or not or i shd consider Masters in CS programme and bro i think uni of victoria also need GRe scores as i have checked this on their website.

no I dont have any certifications and my btech score is around 75% till my 7 semester as i am in my final year now.

ofcourse CS man , u have ur btech in CS why would wanna go for Meng in ECE? :O
nd uvic doesnt need GRE for course based masters , i have spoken to professors nd have an admit without GRE myself

Uni of victoria has lower fees because the differential fees diff between PR's & international students is very less.

U need a GRE to crack UBC, U of Alberta, U of Waterloo , MCGILL these r the top shots of canada.....

U of regina is a small reputed uni , but huge numbers apply because of Sask PNP program & low fees , so though it not a top shot , the competition is strong here. same with Uni of sask ( bigger than uni of regina)

education in canada is no joke , its not as in india , we study one night b4 nd pass exams, please dont screw ur career , choose a wise course in which
u have sm exp , play on ur strengths.

A CS student going for masters in ECE is perfectly fine. ECE stands for Electrical and Computer Engineering. So if you have your interests in Robotics , Artificial intelligence then ECE is the best. I am working in an IT firm from the last 3.2 years and believe me... this is so boring. If you want to focus in practical aspect and build intelligent systems... then ECE else CS.

I have 3 offers as of now for Fall 2013 :

Western Ontaro - MEng in ECE
Concordia - MACS - 2 years
Dalhousie - MACS - 1 year

I have already rejected Dalhousie and have to chose b/w UWO & Concordia.
