Got Quebec CSQ from India

I applied from India in July 2008, the interview was last week in New Delhi and I got the CSQ on the spot. I was very tense about the interview. Many posts here and on other websites helped me. Thanks to all of you. The interview was 50% in French and 50% in English; it lasted exactly 1 hour. The lady was very friendly and helpful and quickly put me at ease. My spoken French can be called advanced beginner's at best; I'm pursuing Level B1 from Alliance Francaise. Passed DELF A2 last year. No family or friends in Canada except for some friends from Facebook. My 2 cents worth: Doing a lot of research on Quebec helped and the officer was impressed by my knowledge of Quebec, especially ville de Quebec. I've heard that they give weightage for intention to settle in ville de Quebec because almost everyone chooses Montreal. They need more people in the Capitale-Nationale region.

A little background info: I am 35, Masters in Biotechnology, have been working in the managerial cadre in ITES (IT Enabled Services) for the last 10 years. Married, have a 10-year-old son, but my husband is not accompanying me. Applied by myself, did not use a lawyer.

I am also going to apply for Quebec. Do u mind telling me about the questions did Interviewer asked u during interview so that it would be helpful for other peoples.

In my case,I Passed DELF A2 and going to appear for B1. Is that level sufficient to speak french in interview?

Luckily she asked me to describe my work in English. I was a bit tense about that part since my French for technical terms wasn't very good. With your level of French, I'm sure you'll sail through. Good luck! Are you applying from India as well? If so, it'll take at least a year for the interview call.

yes,i will apply from india...thank you for your info.could you give some reference of consultant who deal with quebec imm.it is very difficult to find quebec consultant.

I've no idea regarding consultants, and I don't think they're much help with the Quebec process. As I said specifically in my post, I applied by myself and did not make use of a consultant's services.

you were able to give a 30 minute interview in French?? AND you answered the questions posted on the link?? WOW!

My French is not good AT ALL....I can briefly introduce myself and thats it.....

I reside in Sweden so my office is Paris. I use CanadaVisa.com as my representatives and they told me that my file will be sent to Paris.

Do you speak any French at all?

Yes i do speak some french..i have done till level 5..and planning to continue... i guess (and hope) that if i get a call for an interview, i wud be in level 7...intermediate...but thts a long way away..still have not got the AOR from hong kong...

don't worry, you will get ur AOR soon. I got mine after two weeks from BIQ Hongkong. It depends on the postal service of ur country also.
