hello everyone
recently we( my wife,my son and me) have got PR for nova scotia. So in COPR our destination is written as halifax. But the problem is we don't have any relative/ friend there. on the other hand we are known to many who are residing in Toronto. so we are thinking to go there at first and stay for some months just to be acquainted with the life of Canada. so my query is 1.whether it will cause any issue or not
2.will there be any problem to get my SIN number, health card and child benefit etc if I want to have them from Toronto or I am bounded to get them from halifax.

If you have not completed your landing yet, you may find that if you can't convince the CBSA officer processing your landing that you are going to Nova Scotia, they may refuse to land you. Once you have landed however, you are free to go wherever you wish.

Of course applying for a health card in Toronto sort of also implies you have no intention of moving on to NS given that would be OHIP for Ontario residents.

As per previous post you signed up for NS so you should at least show intent that is your destination, once landed you can really live where you want. The fact that the first POE assuming Toronto will be your landing point you may be lucky with CBSA you may not depends how much you want to risk and the agent you are faced with if they need convincing.

People generally seem to only stop over for days or a week or two not months and that tends to be acceptable as they can show some onward travel plan even if ultimately thats only to achieve a landing.
