Got PPR !! Where to Sand Passport ? Confused ???

Hello,

I am July 27 2016 Out land spouse sponsorship applicant.....As a Indian citizen, we need visa.

I have just received passport request from New Delhi Visa Office.

There are two options to submit passport to get Visa ad COPR:

1) Send it to VFS in India to New Delhi Visa office....

2) Send it to Canada to Ottawa....

Here is my question...

My wife lives in the USA so I was expecting that she will submit her passport to Canada embassy in New York.....Now what ?

What I can do to submit passport to New York Canada embassy ? It s the nearest embassy from her home in USA....

Please let me know guys....thank you so much....

Hey, first congrats PR!! Did you think maybe to try and contact them and explain this situation? And maybe indeed it is possible to send to the New York VO?

Was the address your wife used for her PR application her address in the USA? I am assuming once you send the passport to the VO, that they will want to return her passport to the address that they have for her on file (the address she listed as residing at on her PR application). In that case, it should not matter which VO she sends her passport to, maybe she could send it to Canada since it is closer to her than the NDVO.

If she is now living at a different address than the one on her application, maybe she should update that address with the CIC first, before sending her passport so they can send it back to her appropriately after stamping it.

I don't think you can choose which VO you send it to, I think you have to follow their instructions carefully and properly. I could be wrong on all of this though. I am just sharing my opinion.

Actually my wife has Canada visitor visa so I am thinking to call her to Canada next week and submit her passport with in Canada to Ottawa……

That could work, but make sure they have the right address in Canada to send the passport back to once it is stamped. Also, make sure your wife will be able to stay in Canada for 3 months as they have stated in their letter.
