Folks,

I reside in US on H1 visa.I recently got my PPR (Skilled worker, NY Consulate ). I have sent my passports for visa and is expecting them back any day soon.

We just found out that I'm pregnant. Please suggest what should we do? I dont have any idea about what to do.

We are also planning to land in Vancouver in Nov 2006. We are not sure when we will move to Canada permenantly. It could be anytime between May 2007 - 2008

Thanks

I would suggest that you have the child in Canada, will save a lot of trouble in the end. But otherwise, "land" and return to the US, have the baby, then as the baby will be a US citizen, once you return to Canada, you can submit a sponsorship for the child through Buffalo. As there is only a medical for a baby, with no x-ray, blood or urinalysis, it doesn't take long to process the PR. The baby should be admitted as a visitor to Canada, if not, then either you or your spouse (if you have one) would have to return to Canada, without the child and submit the application.

Hi Friends, please help to resolve below dilemma.

I am in Boston now in L1 visa and my wife is 7 months pregnant and I recently got PPR. I have below 3 options now.

1. Soft landing in Toronto/Halifax and come back next day, continue to stay in US and sponsor child after birth later
2. Shift to any province having next day healthcare after resigning from current job and search job in Canada
3. Wait for birth of baby, inform CIC to cancel and reissue the COPRs with the baby

My question are:

1. Are 2 days enough for soft-landing? I would not be able to stay long as it's unsafe to stay without insurance longer in Canada
2. This option seem risky as it looks difficult to get a job in AB/SSK in IT sooner.
3. May the third option be an issue with CIC and if they can delay/cancel my COPR?

Please suggest.
