Got PNP certificate, now considering getting married and then applying for PR

I applied for PNP in Ontario in Dec 2014 and got approved in last month. My girlfriend came to Toronto also in Dec 2014 and has been studying in a college. Now we plan to get married on this Sunday.
I understand that I should submit additional document to illustrate my wife's condition. So far I can come up with is only the marriage certificate. Is there any specific requirement for this part?
Thanks!

Well,
to avoid delays and time-consuming process
You better do the following as appropriate:
1- Get marry and have marriage certificate, but thats not enough
2- Send your marriage certificate to your country, changed the information of your passport and any other govt ids like CNIC...and update your marriage status...in your wife's case, i guess it ll be changed to your name as its written like:
name of your wife
husband name: here your name will appear
same is the case with passport especially for females
also, write a detail letter to the province of nomination and send it by email
they ll respond to it (they wont add any add name on your pnp but they will write email saying under this article# the immigration officer will consider your wife as part of the application as for other provinces...attache this email with your PR application including all i.ds and marriage certificate etc and attach it with your form.
Remember if it is a marriage, you better invite your family and friends, if it is a court marriage then fine...you have to differentiate between the two.

Good luck

They will send you a document to answer. Where and when you got married. who was there. if your family or friends couldn't make it, explain why. reception, who was there what happened. when you met your wife, how they met. they ask for pictures too. if it's arranged marriage is most likely to be labeled as marriage of convenience. you need to send proof of communication before you got married and after you got married. if you add your spouse, your application will take longer. it usually takes 10-12 months if no changes. adding her will set you back a few months. and you need to fulfill the spouse criteria. they will ask for bank accounts and proof of income. you need to make at least $40k if it's only you two. if for any reason your wife doesn't get her PR, your PR will be declined too. So far, ive only heard of 2 cases, both were rejected because it was a moc(marriage of convenience. getting married with the main purpose to immigrate to Canada).

source: i added my wife and had to go through all this.

Pretty specific. Thanks a lot. As for the bank deposit proof, do you mean I should submit the bank statement for two people again which is only required at PNP stage when I prepare the PR document package? Thank you again!

you need to fulfill the sponsor criteria if you add her. if your inland, they will ask you for paystub and the minimum is 40k a year if you have no other dependents. if not then you have to show your bank statements showing you have enough funds to settle for 2 people.
After getting your PNP nomination, the CIC process is very simple and straight forward. It'll take 10-12 months. If you add your wife, extra documents are needed and will take more than the average time(16 months so far) plus you need to fulfill the sponsorship requirements.
You need to add her and that's it. then wait for CIC to ask for documents. they will ask for proof and if more proof is needed. you just have to send the PR forms for your wife and wait.

Well ...some of the info is okey ..however a few points I may not agree with.
Once you are pnp ...and you get marry ..and submitting your wife 's docs together with your PR app ...and you have informed pnp office ..abt this change...legally she has become part of your app and it 'll not hv any effect on your timeline..I hv never see/read that a spouse should b earning 40k ..its not written anywhere..cic can't reject your app on proof of funds ...especially pnp class bcz they hv job offers mostly ...and once you are pnp cic never asks fr proof of funds..
Even such cases are there ...ppl who r already in Canada and can't pay the Rprf ..govt of Canada is giving them a loan to deposit the rprf
Thanks ...

Your suggestion is pertinent. I called PNP Ontario today, the guy on the other side of phone told me that PNP would not require any additional document once the certificate is issued and I should explain to CIC that my marital status has been changed in between when I submit PR application.
I have a full-time job now and plan to buy a car this month. I think all these would convince the visa officer of my ability to maintain my wife and my life here.

Never take such risks
Never buy a car ...make money and keep the account grow !!!
That's the real money ...if you buy a car ...giving $300 insurance and $300 gas and the rest of maintenance ...for immigration officer you 'll 2 wives ..:)
Secondly ..I told you to email ..."call" has no legal status ...once you marry email and they 'll write the same thing and print the email and attached with ur pr app
For pnp they never ask fr proof of funds as when you applied the province it was their job and it's done now :)
Take it easy bro

Provincial Nominees:

"Changes in the family composition during processing
Under R87(2)(a), only the principal applicant must be named in the nomination certificate.
Although many provinces also list the applicant’s accompanying dependants on the certificate,
there is no actual legal requirement for them to be listed. As a result, there is no need for a new or
amended nomination certificate if the applicant’s family composition changes during processing.
As a courtesy, the visa office should inform the province of a change in the applicant’s family
composition but a new certificate should not be requested in these circumstances"

a few things that you should understand. if you add her from the beginning, it won't affect. if you add her after you submit your application, it will affect your time line. my application has taken 16 months already. I emailed Ottawa and they said because I added my spouse, it'll take longer.

either way, having dependents will require funds or certain income.
http://www.canadavisa.com/necessary-income-levels-for-family-sponsorship.html

if your dependents are abroad, you will require to fulfill the requirements.

if you search for adding your wife in your application, you'll see that people require to show bank statements and paystubs and proof of employment. I myself had to submit this.

in resume, if you get married and add your wife, expect longer times, more delays, more expenses(my wife had to do medicals twice), more requirements to fulfill, and a higher risk to get your application rejected because even if you're eligible, if she's not eligible, both PRs will get refused.

Hi Sam,

To include your wife in your PR application, you will have to contact the PNP to request an updated nomination certificate and yes, you will have to demonstrate increased settlement support. Please contact the PNP through the email address listed on the program website for general inquiries and include your file number in your email as well as relevant supporting documents.

This is the reply from an PNP Ontario. sigh

you are right, they will require more support documents even at PNP stage. I will update any progress on this from now. I should've got married before submitting PNP application.
