Hi everyone,
I did my landing interview at CIC office and let me pay my residence fee/During the interview the officer ask the sponsor if he is in social assistance before and he said yes.The officer said she will get information about welfare and make another appointment with me.My concern is this going to affect my permanent status??In spite I'm working during that time while my husband is in social assistance? Is there any chances that i can still grant my permanent resident? Please need your advice badly about this matter..

thanks

Yes, if your sponsor is on social assistance (except for disability) then s/he is not eligible to sponsor you. They will not "land" you and you can probably expect a refusal.

Thanks for the reply..i do understand that sponsor under social assistance is not eligible but during an interview I asked the officer if this is going to affect my permanent and she said its not a problem.I just stay hopeful.

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
In another post, you said that your husband was on social assistance in 2009 and not since. If he stopped taking social assistance before he sponsored you and didn't get it since, I think you will not have a problem. They just have to verify it.
