hi all,

i just got my immigration visa yesterday but not sure whether i should land right away. my current post graduation work permit expires Nov 8 (issued to expiry of old passport) but my air ticket back to china is Nov 11. my question is whether i should land this coming weekend and would there be enough time until Nov 11 to receive my PR card. then if not should i land and apply for a travel document thru Buffalo or wait until i come back from china to land. would it be OK if i don't land now and let my work permit expire for 3 days Nov 8-11 then travel back to china? will there be a issue when i come back with my PR visa and COPR since i will stay in Canada illegally for 3 days? if i submit my extension for work permit now to cover my 3 days is it ok if i leave canada without it and come back using PR visa to enter?

thank you guys.

hi, i think you don't have to worry about anything. that's the purpose of landing in canada, go out of canada and re enter. you have all the necessary documents. the confirmation of permanent residency will let you in the country.

you should leave canada before your permit expires. or if you really want to go to your homeland later, just go drive to the border and get your passport stamped so you can stay here in canada whenever you want. but if you are going for vacation, you probably gonna need a travel documents if you dont have your pr card yet.
