Hi All,

I have applied for PR under FSW program and my application is in RBVO since march 2011.

Last month I visited home country and got married. But within one month me and my wife could not get along and decided to separate our ways. I will be started divorce procedure soon. My question is that what should I update to CIC ? Should I wait until the divorce is finalized and then update CIC that I got married and divorced ? or I do not need to update them because I will be single/divorced and do not need the ex-wife added to my case?

Any help / suggestions would be highly appreciated!

Thanks,
Indus

dear friend, you dont need to bother visa office about your marriage OR divorce unless your spouse had already been added at the time of your file submission to CIC Nova Scotia, I hope, your concern is answered.

No, you need to inform VO ,once your divorce is finalized .Though you are not going to add your wife to your application but your marital status has been changed (from bachelor to divorced) and there are strict instructions from CIC to inform them immediately about any change in marital status .It will not cost you so much time and effort but could create problem for you anytime in future and might be taken as misrepresentation. So just wait for the finalization of divorce and inform CIC by sending them copies of your marriage and divorce certificates.

Hope it helps!

You should update VO ASAP for whatever you have change in your status...
If you found holding any information regarding this and if your VO find out then mate the situation will be dicey...Only thing is that if you update the both status and inform them at once..they might have a querry regarding why you dont inform about your marriage prior to your divorce,
so it would be best to PM senior members...

First thing is that which country you belongs to????

If you Belongs to India than before you can go for a final divorce you can do customary divorce which is a procedure of just a one day.
you can ask any family lawyer and they will assist you. if customary divorce in your local language than convert it in to English language and send it to NDVO.

by the meantime apply for the final divorce from the court. Local visa office will not ask for your spouse document as they knows that you are divorce now. when you will received final divorce , send it to them.

second option is that , you filled a petition in a court for final divorce. that PETITION COPY you can send it to Local Visa office.
that petition copy is a proof that you filled for divorce and awaiting for final divorce. so local visa office will not ask for spouse document and you will not get spouse point.

Let me know for any query.

I don't think there is any issue with points, as the initial application was submitted long before the marriage took place. I do agree that CIC should be updated as soon as possible.
