Hi everyone,

My case with Canadian immigration is as confusing and amusing as many here. so here it is,

I came to Canada in 2011 summer, finished my masters, got my PGWP and worked here. Interesting part is, i did all this in part of Canada they call Quebec 8). I applied for CSQ after my studies, they took 1.5 year to open my file and then other 6 months to reject it. Reason being i got my Bachelors Degree attested from Canadian notary, not from India. Now with most of my PGWP wasted during this open and reject process, i applied for CEC Federal. but caps were all full and my file came flying back to me :p .

My HR said they can apply for work permit extension, but my luck took over again and most of staff got laid due to cost cuts ( along with the HR :p). so i applied for express entry profile in Jan and waited for ITA. i was actively looking for jobs outside Quebec as i know you cannot live in Quebec if applying under federal. My lay off date at work was April 15. i got invitation in last draw of march. i prepared my docs and waited for my job to finish. on April 2, packed my stuff and moved to Toronto and applied the very next day.

now its almost a month since my application. my work permit expires in 3 months, i have applied for BOWP but haven't got any response. My almost finished work permit have affected my job search with no one wanting to employ risky candidate. Now i have received a offer for 3 month contract job in Ontario. but they need incorporated contractor.

Now REAL question is "If i do work as incorporated contractor, will it affect my already submitted PR application as FSW? I never got 600 Job points in express entry as my job before was without LMIA. So technically my points wont be affected. Also, i already have 2.5 years of experience under my NOC code. Should it affect anything?

i could have just sit idle and not do anything until decision is made on my file or i get other job. but i guess getting a job outside Quebec asap made my case more trustworthy?

Called CIC, but they say they don't have idea and i should send email to express entry. Any suggestions?

You have already submitted your eApr and you are living outside Quebec. What ever you do now would not affect your FSW application. You should accept the contract.

I don't see an issue - why would taking a job would impact your case? Take the job!
