Hello all!
We just got our GCMS notes today after our file got transferred from Buffalo to Ottawa.
We found out that file was electronically transferred on 2012/07/07. It says "File electronically transferred due to regional reconfiguration and the closure of original processing office".
Primary Office: CPP Ottawa
Secondary Office: Buffalo

Wonder if anyone knows why "Buffalo" is still on as "Secondary Office"? Does that mean they haven't touched our file in Ottawa yet? Where is our actual paper file now as we're expecting to have an interview rescheduled(most likely in LA)?

Good news you got them. Long winded, aren't they? LOL

I'm assuming that's because they haven't assigned you to LA yet. Our application started out with primary office "Mississauga" and then when they added "Ottawa" it became primary and Mississauga became secondary and then they changed to to say "LA".

Sadly it sounds like your file was awaiting review by someone in Ottawa (I assume the notes are 30 days old or so). Hopefully you'll hear something soon!

Last one was 26 pages. This one is 33 pages dated August 22, 2012. Most of the stuffs are repetitions and things we know already. If Ottawa treats 2012/07/07 as date of ROA, then someone should be reviewing our file(again, a 2nd time after being reviewed in Buffalo) after yours(your AOR was end of June 2012). I hope you'll be hearing from LA soon Comptergeek. Do you think your paper file is in LA or Ottawa now?

Back in February, before we filed for sponsored spousal I filed an application for a TRP in Seattle. Let's just say the fact that the two different attorneys to whom I spoke about being deemed inadmissible at the border did not fill me with confidence I wasn't going to be turned away on the way home - a real issue since my work requires I travel quite a lot - 50% of the time from last November until this July.

The VO handling that called me last Thursday. She had spent some time reviewing my file (apparently my case is "interesting" and since most TRPs are for criminal inadmissibility a weird medical TRP with a spousal and JR for the refusal must be a bit outside the norm) and had spoken to the VO in Ottawa who had reviewed my file. What she said was that the VO in Ottawa had determined we had a genuine relationship and was forwarding final instructions to LA. She said I'd hear within two weeks from LA. She's keeping my TRP application open ("we'll do something to make sure you can get back home if its necessary").

So in my long-winded way, my guess is that the paper file remains in Ottawa and only electronic material is sent to LA.

I'm still pretty psyched from the conversation with her. It's hard to envision the folks at CIC as being nice, but she really was very nice and gave me more real information in a 10 minute telephone call than I've received from CIC in the past 39 months.

You are very lucky to find a nice person in CIC and above that speaks about a case in Ottawa. I have never been able to extract any information about my file once I say it's in Ottawa...they just refuse talking to me...I called claiming I do not know where is my file? Is it lost? Once they realize it's in Ottawa...they say we do not know anything else all that we know is it was transfered there!!!

For those who got their GCMS for how long your file was left to collect dirt (without activity-without an agent to process it)?

I notice in my case with my application, things were moving forward only after I would have contact my VO or my husband MP. It was like..."coucou guys...I am still here and waiting for news.... ::)"

Only then I would have get an update or a letter.

I know my case is straight-forward. I really do not know anything anything they even didn't reply to my enquiry. I ordered GCMS to see but was wondering how long does your file stay waiting?

That is very disappointing. My MP refused to interfer since it is within normal processing time.

I am sorry to hear that, I know how you must feel.

True, your are in the time frame , your MP is right I see your file was transfered to Otwa in May 2012.

My husband was approved as my sponsor in November and my file then has been tranfered to Bucharest at the end of January... ???. And we had this information ony after my husband contacted his MP.

If your case is stright forward you should not make worries, after all no news its a good news how they say. :)

So from then I am still not finished and had to get through other requeries and an interview from my VO. ??? :-\

As for you I hope to get soon the GCMS notes asap. I don't really know how long will take but I guess not to long. We never ask for this notes.

CIC says call center agents do not have an access to applications processed by Ottawa (it is like VO).
Since my case is straight forward it should not take the normal processing time. For it to take that time means something is wrong. This worries me... :(
